School Clocks
A resource covering the large wall clock and many other forms, including digital, analog, atomic, musical and more.
When I think of school clocks, I always think back to my childhood and remember the industrial off-white clock with the dark grey numbers. The red seconds hand that I probably watched work its way around the clock thousands of times, waiting for those boring lectures to come to an end before the bell finally rang. Ah, the memories of the analog school clock.
The traditional version that you may have grown up with is quickly growing up. Nowadays, there are many educational systems opting to go with the atomic clock. I can remember how different clocks in different classes were out of sync. This is no longer the case in many districts across the country, as the atomic school clocks ensure that every single unit within the school is accurate to the second.
In the past, many schools have sought to counter this problem by engineering a system that wires all of the clocks so that they’re all in sync with each other. This often comes at a cost of tens of thousands of dollars, and possibly more depending upon the size of the school. The good news is that this is unnecessary nowadays, as any school looking to ensure the synchronicity of all of its clocks can simply choose to go with atomic school clocks.
Many educational systems across the nation are facing budget dilemmas these days. Understandably so, if you’ve been given the task of buying a set of units for your school, you’ll naturally want to look for one that’s both affordable and durable (and preferably pleasing to the eye at the same time).
School clocks of the atomic breed are very reasonably priced. How much you’ll end up spending on your set may depend on which ones you choose to buy and how many you go with (bigger orders obviously command bulk discounts on clocks), but for the most part, prices will end up ranging anywhere from $20 to $25 per unit.
Considering the durability of the atomic clock, this is a worthy investment to be making over the long haul, as each of these clocks should last for decades.
The style of many of them is an upgraded version as compared to the traditional school clocks that many of us grew up with. They’re not flashy enough to clash with the look and feel of a simple classroom, but they do appear to be modern and pleasant to look at.
School clocks can be currently selected from a multitude of potential fonts and frame colors. From the traditional serifs to more modern fonts, there’s a wide variety to choose from. As far as the rims go, there are white, black, aluminum school clocks, stainless steel, and more.
Whatever the case may be, there are plenty of options to choose from. I’d recommend finding your school clock online as opposed to buying it locally, as you’re bound to find some better deals if you search around online. Shipping rates are reasonable and you’ll still end up saving money when all is said and done, not to mention the fact that you’ll end up with better quality wall clocks.
We’d also suggest calling any online retailers direct once you’ve found a model to your liking, as there’s always the potential to try to negotiate with them a little further. Every dollar matters in the educational system, so it can’t hurt to try.
